CROSS
Photographer: Jim Finfera
There are times as we walk through our life's journey we fall upon bad times. Maybe it is an illness, a loss love, death of a loved one, loss of a job home, money, or countless of other tragedies. We often allow ourselves to be very cast down and wonder why does these hard times have to fall on us. We ask God, why me? However, these misfortunes are really our crosses of life. God the Father did not spare His only Son, Jesus, so why should He spare us. I believe this beautify thought in this picture that I took in the Outer Banks of North Carolina give the true meaning of our own crosses/sufferings. This thought was given to Doctor Tom Dooley by a little nun as he was recovering from a cancer operation. He kept it with him for the rest of his short life. Dr. Dooley once said, "We cannot understand the suffering of others unless we go to the same school of suffering ourselves". That means we cannot understand the suffering of our Savior unless He allows us to go through His school of suffering ourselves. Like it or not suffering is redemptive. It does build character. This picture with that thought puts things in perspective. Consider this picture a message from God to you!!
