As I drive by or walk though these woods on the shore of the Potomac, I often sense the presence of our Founding Father. This location is rather close to his home in Mount Vernon and I am confident he road his horse to this shore and saw the same view we are blessed in seeing through this picture. A fallen tree in its own way adds to the beauty of nature. That is how death is in the natural flow of life. If understood in the proper order of things, it really is not to be feared. It really adds to the beauty of life. I believe that Washington standing on these very shores, believed and understood this to be so. See, there is really no need to be afraid. We all are in the Palm of God's Hand. If no sparrow will fall without his consent, then think how special he will take care of us. He told us so, didn't He.
