OCCOQUAN OF YESTERYEARS
Photographer: Jim Finfera
This is really not an old picture, but a
recent one I took on a foggy morning which I modified. However, I bet that
if we obtained a drawing from the historic past, it would probably not look
very different. Occoquan is a historic town who was been in the American heritage
for a long time. We are blessed to have this noble town to remind us of our
special roots, especially in these modern times of difficulty.

THE RAVEN
Photographer: Jim Finfera
I really do not know if this bird is a raven or not, but that should not discourage
us. How do we know, maybe Edgar Allen Poe got his inspiration for his poem from
a sight such as this. This shores of the Occoquan River probably inspired a
multitude of poets and artist to include yours truly. I love this river.

THE OCCOQUAN RIVER
Photographer: Jim Finfera
Sure we have highways going across the Occoquan River, but in a way it just
becomes a part of the river which nature, as the two ducks, simple accepts.
See, man and nature can peacefully coexist. If man and nature can harmonize,
then it is entirely possible for mankind to recognize its sisterhood and brotherhood.
Don't you agree.

GUARDING THE OCCOQUAN
Photographer: Jim Finfera
One very early foggy morning, I saw this
creature flying up and down this noble river, over and over and over again.
It is like he is watching to assure this special river is always protected.
It is like he or she is a very integral part of the Occoquan. They are mutually
self supporting.

ABANDONED WEB
Photographer: Jim Finfera
How often to we take the time to observe
and admire the little beauties of nature, such as an abandon spider's web
on a misty morning. All to often we are rushed with pressing everyday cares
that we never take the time to stop, observe, and really listen. Let's regain
the lost tranquility, even if only for a moment.
