I just finished photographing the wedding ceremony and was waiting for the bride and groom to return for some posed shots when I saw the unity candle burning in front of the opened Word of God.  I was so intrigued by the beauty of the scene, that I had to capture this beautiful sight.

Just before a wedding, I was in a Catholic Church and caught site of this confessional.  I just could not let this humorous opportunity pass buy without catching it on film.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 1993

I, my wife (Diane), and son (Paul) went to Denver to visit the Pope at his beloved World Youth Day.  We were in the Denver stadium and it was packed.  The sky looked mean, there was a brief shower, and then was this beautiful rainbow (You can see it in this picture in the upper right corner).  I believe it was a special sign from God to all the people in the stadium, showing His satisfaction with all.  It is interesting how God gives us certain signs, like the first Right to Life March in DC on Jan 22, 1974 (A beautiful warm, mid 70's, sunny day in January), or that beautiful day when close to a million men went to the DC Promise Keepers revival.

CONTEMPLATION

For years I always wanted to capture a spiritual person in prayer.  After a wedding ceremony, I was taking posed picture.  I noticed this sweet older lady sitting off to the side of the alter engrossed in prayer.  She looked like an angle.  When I finished the posed wedding shots, I went over to her and told her of my dream.  She was so sweet and kind and graciously allowed me to capture her in her prayer.  I believe God helped me in capturing this picture, because when I took the photograph, my settings were off causing me to under expose this picture.  The under exposure was just perfect to capture the mood of the scene.
